Privacy Policy
Growth Investment Partners Ghana LTD (the “Company” or “GIP”) is registered as a Data Controller with the Data Protection Commission in Ghana and adheres to the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), other relevant regulations, legal notices and/or similar rules in Ghana and worldwide. The Company is committed to respecting the privacy of its clients and affiliates (data subjects) and complying with Ghana’s data protection laws and international best practices.
The Company assures data subjects that their personal data is processed fairly, lawfully and in accordance with good practice and is only collected for specific purposes which are known and accepted by the data subject during the onboarding process.
By engaging with the Company, the data subject is accepting that GIP stores and processes the information entered in addition to the general system information and that activities are logged. GIP takes the security and confidentiality of data subjects’ personal data seriously and shall endeavour to ensure that such data is not disclosed at any time to any third party without the data subject’s prior explicit consent unless required by law.
- Personal data of data subjects given to the Company can only be accessed by the Company’s employees in possession of the required clearance.
- The Company has adopted international best practice when it comes to the principles of e-mail communication with its data subjects.
- All the aforementioned is in place to assure GIP clients and affiliates that at all times personal data is:
- processed in accordance with the rights of the data subject concerned;
- processed fairly and lawfully;
- obtained only for a specific and lawful purpose;
- adequate, relevant, and not excessive to its purpose;
- accurate and updated;
- kept in a secure manner;
- not kept longer than is necessary for its purpose;
- not transferred to jurisdictions not adhering to international best practices;
- utilized for marketing purposes based solely on the opt-in principle.
- The only time that GIP may disclose personal data is when ordered to do so by a decision deriving from the governing law, or when ordered by a regulatory authority, particularly the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana, or the Data Protection Commissioner, or in the event of a data subject being directly or indirectly involved in a crime that involves their association with the Company.
- By engaging with GIP, the data subject consents that GIP uses their personal data for the following purposes:
- performance of the Terms & Conditions by the Company, our suppliers, and any third party acting on our behalf;
- internal marketing and promotion of activities;
- storage and processing in terms of the laws and regulations covering anti-money laundering.
- All GIP employees are required to comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy provides that employees are obliged to keep data subject information strictly confidential. This obligation continues once an employee has left GIP.
- The data subject can write to us at any time to obtain a copy of their information and to have any inaccuracies corrected. Where appropriate, the data subject may request to have their personal information erased, rectified, amended, or completed. To contact us regarding their information, the data subject should email info@gipghana.com.
- As indicated above, GIP may, on occasion, market directly to data subjects’ products and services which the Company considers may be of interest to the data subject. Should the data subject not wish to receive such information, or in case of any other data protection queries, the data subject is urged to contact GIP for such information or changes.
